Salon Apps

Salon apps have already been around for some time now, however new features are allowing app users to have the convenience of an app without being constantly bombarded with promotions that are often times too frequent. These features, along with the growing number of mobile app developers are increasing the interest in salon apps for mobile platforms.

While mobile apps are a great way to connect businesses with their clients, often times an over-aggressive marketing strategy can be an annoyance to the customer and mobile app user. Geo-fencing, one of the most exciting new features available with salon apps, helps prevent business owners from falling into this ill-fated habit. Geo-fencing allows the salon owner to place an virtual perimeter around the salon. This dynamic perimeter can be any of any shape and radius from the location. When a mobile app user enters within this perimeter, only then will a notification for an event or promotion be sent to them.

So how does this work in practice? Let's say your salon just received a new hair product and you want to promote it with a discount to your first 50 customers. By activating a geo-fence notification you can interest only those geographically closest to your salon. When one of your salon app users enters within the perimeter, they are notified of the promotion. Because they are close to your salon they are more likely to respond to and take advantage of it than someone who is a considerable distance away.

Or let's say you're downtown salon is hosting a style party. Instead of sending a mass Push Notification to every salon app user, many of whom may not be in the city that day, you can have it set as a geo-fence notification. When a user enters this perimeter they are notified about the event, giving them an opportunity to schedule and plan their day to fit your event into it.

Salon apps are only improving and evolving as time and technology progress. By taking advantage of the new features that becomes available, salon owners are acquiring the knowledge and tools to market and strategize their business in a reasonable manner. Simultaneously, mobile app users are finding that business apps, especially those with push notifications, don't have to be as intrusive as presumed.
